Bonn American High School Hall of Fame Guidelines
The Bonn American High School Hall of Fame honors alumni, staff, coaches, and volunteers who have made significant contributions to the school and beyond. Nominees are recognized for outstanding achievements in their field, leadership, the arts, sports, or community service. Individuals with notable records of achievement are eligible for induction.
Selection Criteria
- Achievement: Alumni, staff, coaches, or volunteers who have gained notable recognition in their field at the local, national, or international level are eligible for induction.
- Leadership: Those who have shown exceptional leadership in their field or in other areas of interest, earning recognition at the local, national, or international level, may be nominated.
- The Arts: Individuals who have excelled in visual or performing arts at the local, national, or international level are also eligible.
- Sports: Those who have achieved significant success in their chosen sports at any level can be nominated.
- Volunteer/Community Service: Alumni, staff, coaches, or volunteers whose actions and achievements fall outside the categories above but still deserve special recognition are also eligible.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for induction, alumni must have graduated from the Bonn American High School at least ten years before their nomination. Staff, coaches, or volunteers must have been retired or no longer active at the school for at least five years. Deceased individuals who meet these criteria are also eligible for consideration.
When evaluating candidates, the following attributes are considered:
– Demonstrated outstanding character.
– Recognition for outstanding citizenship at the local, national, or international level.
– Leadership that inspires others to strive for excellence.
– Exceptional accomplishments or noteworthy leadership.
If a nominee is not selected, they can be re-nominated for consideration in future years.
Hall of Fame Timeline
– Nominations must be submitted by August 1st of the induction year.
– The review committee receives nominations during the first week of August.
– Inductees are chosen by September 1st.
– A minimum of one and a maximum of five nominees are inducted each year.
Review Committee
The Hall of Fame review committee consists of five to seven anonymous members representing alumni, retirees, and community members. Committee seats are filled as needed, ensuring a cross-section of the Bonn American High School community.
Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
The induction ceremony is held at a public event and awards presentation, preferably during a high school reunion. Each inductee receives a personalized Hall of Fame award, and a permanent recognition of each Hall of Fame member is displayed on the bahsalumni.com website. The current Hall of Fame members are also introduced during the reunion.
