In an effort to persuade people to use public transportation more and curb energy costs, the Deutschland- Ticket was introduced. This great deal allows you to use all forms of transportation in Germany besides planes and fast trains such as ICE, IC or EC Schnellzüge. It’s valid for month, but make sure you cancel within the given timeframe or it continues automatically on a monthly basis. Here a link:

The Deutschland-Ticket is here: for just 49 euros per month. (

While in Bonn you can use the bus and tram system. The Bonner Stadtwerke offers a variety of deals and tickets which perhaps suit your getting around town and surroundings best. Remember though, if you have the Deutschland-Ticket all Bonner Bus and Tram rides are included. The link also provides a map and timetables ( for stops where you get on and want to get off ) and are easily understood. Besides getting around by public transportation and perhaps taxi or Uber, there are many bicycle and scooter rentals available via smartphone apps/QR codes and stand around and are ready to use almost everywhere in town. Here a link to the Bonner Bus and Tram website in English and also links to the bus and tram routes and timetables. Bus numbers 610 and 614 will get you to the Project in Plittersdorf and the Tram ( U-Bahns ) numbers 16 to 63 will get you to Bad Godesberg. Have a look and study them before arriving:

Churches, museums, the Beethoven House and the beautiful cherry blossoms in April – Bonn has a lot to offer. While you are transported back to the time of classical music at Beethoven-Platz, you can walk through political history on the Democracy Trail. The signposted stations lead through the middle of the former government district. If you are more in the mood for contemplation and tranquility, the botanical garden and the historic cemeteries are well worth a visit. And you can experience Bonn in full splendor in the middle of April, when the cherry trees of the old town open their pink blossoms.
